Zac Alrayyis is an atheist from Saudi Arabia and was raised in an extremely religious Salafi Islamic family. He abandoned Islam at age 13 and a few years later, escaped to Germany where his asylum application has recently been accepted. He is an activist for secularism, freedom, human rights, and animal rights. We spoke about his childhood, his journey from religion to reason, his complicated relationship with his family, atheism in Saudi Arabia, and his views on MBS (Muhammad bin Salman) and its current leadership.
